Moving and Preparation
This section deals with letting you know what you have to do to prepare for your new RTM home, as well as how it gets where you want it to go!
Preparing For Your New Home
There is more to putting an RTM on your lot than simply dropping it off. A big decision for you is determining what kind of foundation you will want, and if you will also want a basement.
Greystone Homes works with skilled and trusted trades ready to handle any need of yours in this regard. Even if you don’t use Greystone Homes for your foundation/basement, we will provide a foundation drawing that can be used by your contractor.
Different materials typically used – such as wood, ICF, or concrete – each come with their own sets of advantages and disadvantages. Greystone Homes can provide any of these options, and will work with you to determine what works best for you. For more information on these options, please feel free to contact us.
Moving Your RTM
Moving an entire house isn’t your typical moving day! Great care and attention to detail every step of the way is required to safely get your RTM home from our yard to your lot. Watch the following video, courtesy of Warman Homes, to get a feel for the process involved:
Greystone Homes uses the company Neufeld Building Movers for our RTM homes. They are a member of the Saskatchewan Building Movers Association, the Alberta Movers Association and the International Association of Structural Movers. They have nearly 70 years of experience moving buildings.
